Wonky house sessions part 2
Old school wobble
DJ VFT live in the mix June 2026
Part two of this series in which we track back to the years 2009 and 2010 and a time when stinking dirty wet basslines were mandatory in house music. This selection as the title suggests pays hommage to the origional 90's old school rave sound.
It's interesting to note that the sounds that were influencing the tracks in this set and many of the samples being used on them were from around 16 or 17 years earlier.
And now these same tracks are themselves 16 and 17 years old, the same age as the tunes they were sampling at the time. But it most definitely feels like it took longer to get from 1992 to 2009 than it did to get from 2009 to 2026...
All track titles are listed in the video.

Wonky house sessions part 1
The 'Fidget House' mix
DJ VFT live in the mix June 2026
We turn the clock back to 2010 and to a time when dirty, stinking, fat, wet basslines were an essential requirement for all tracks at the time and the term 'Fidget house' was coined to describe the sound. It wasn't a very popular term amongst the producers at the time but it didn't matter because the scene soon moved on and the sound had pretty much disappeared within a couple of years.
So with them now approaching 20 years old, I figured that it would be a good time to re-visit some of those old bangers that, in this face paced world, only had a very brief time in the spotlight.
This set is part 1 of a series of 'fidget' and 'wonky' house sets featuring the sounds that were dominating the underground house scene for a brief time between 2009 and 2010.
All track titles are listed in the video.

Armageddon mix
Back in 2012 rumours were rife that the world was going to end that year.
This mix was done in response to the rumours - just in case they were true and it was to be the last mix!
The set is pretty hard as it was done during back end of the 'Complextro' era. And keeping in line with the Armageddon theme, both the opening and closing tracks reference the end of the world.

The DJ Mixes page
This is where you'll find a various selection of live mix sets from DJ Casey/ VFT spanning the past 30 plus years.
DJ Casey live in the mix 1993
A vintage vinyl set recorded in 1993. A recently re-discovered mix that for some reason was recorded onto a metal type cassette.
Those old enough to remember will know that metal cassettes were the most expensive top of the range blanks you could get due to their higher sound and build quality.
And after over 30 years in storage the audio quality of the cassette was still very good and only a minimal amount of processing was required when converting the original recording to digital.
All the track titles are included in the video apart from track number 14 which has been lost to time.
After scanning through the vinyl collection several times that particular record could not be found so it has either been lost or misplaced. If anyone can help with the track title then please feel free to get in touch and jog my memory!
